In Nigeria, issuing death threats or threats of violence is a criminal offence.

The Nigerian Criminal Code Act (Section 327) states that anyone who makes any threat to kill or cause bodily harm to another person is guilty of a felony and can be punished with imprisonment for up to seven years.

Additionally, the Nigerian Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act of 2015 (Section 24) also makes it an offence to use any computer system to make threats of violence or death. Punishment for this offence can include imprisonment and/or fines.
